Former chairman of the Electoral Commission of Jamaica (ECJ) Professor Errol Miller is calling for the repeal of the "absurd, unworkable, impractical" law that subsumed the political ombudsman functions into the commission. He says it's the "worst" electoral since Independence.

Professor Miller was delivering the Jamaica Teachers' Association 60th anniversary lecture on April 3. He was the first chairman of the ECJ, serving from 2006 to 2012. He chaired the predecessor Electoral Advisory Committee from 2000 to 2006.
