Media Release - JTA Members Elect New President Elect Designate

Three candidates contested the 2022 JTA President Elect Election held June 20 - 24, 2022. They were:

• Suzette Baker Tulloch, Principal, Foga Road Infant School, Clarendon.

• Leighton Johnson, Principal, Muschette High School, Trelawny

• Terrian Okeef Saunders, Classroom Teacher, Donald Quarrie High School, Kingston

A total of 2758 votes were cast in the election which was held using the Online modality. Each candidate received votes as follows:

• Suzette Baker - Tulloch, 477 votes

• Leighton Johnson, 1587 votes

• Terrian Okeef Saunders, 694 votes

• Leighton Johnson having secured the highest number of votes in the preliminary count is hereby declared President Elect Designate of the JTA.

The winner will be officially proclaimed at the 58th Annual Conference scheduled for August 22nd – 24th,  2022, at the Hilton Hotel, Montego Bay.
